We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Indianapolis area. This role involves managing a comprehensive range of accounting tasks, ensuring the integrity of our financial data, and supporting budget preparation. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing & reviewing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and conducting monthly reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Review daily financial reports and enter daily bank transactions into the general ledger.

• Review the trial balance and financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and review accounts to resolve any issues.

• Manage accounts payable and process monthly expense reports.

• Assist in maintaining an orderly accounting filing system, focusing on reconciliations and journal entries.

• Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying updated, filing reports, and advising management on necessary actions.

• Maintain prepaids, rents, and depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets.

• Process Payroll.

Requirements • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Thorough knowledge of General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential

• Experience in Month End Close procedures is required

• Knowledge and experience in using Quickbooks Online is preferred

• Experience in Payroll management is necessary

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to handle confidential information

• Must have a high level of attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be authorized to work in the country of employment.
