The following 2-2-3 shifts are available:
Continental Days
7AM - 7PM
Continental Nights
7PM - 7AM
Basic Job Functions:
Our Maintenance Mechanic will support our Maintenance and Production Teams. Primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, installing and commissioning plant equipment. Our teammate will assist with projects for process improvements and will provide technical service and support for operations.
Our Mechanic will perform equipment inspections and repairs, equipment alignments, execution of preventative maintenance measures, pneumatic system troubleshooting, hydraulic system maintenance, motors, pumps and various other mechanical systems for execution of overall improvements to the Fastener Division. Operation and maintenance of heavy equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and jib cranes will also be necessary. Teammates will use CMMS to complete work orders, research parts, and to schedule maintenance work.
This Mechanic will have a primary responsibility for a specific area, but will need to be willing and able to help in all areas as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Mechanical degree, or
Two-year industrial maintenance degree (or currently pursuing one)
ORFive years of industrial maintenance experience
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, shifts including scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Solidworks/CAD Experience
Process control design and troubleshooting
Welding Experience: MIG, TIG, ARC, and stainless-steel welding techniques
Industrial Electrical Experience
Experience working with vendors and contractors
