PURPOSE and OBJECTIVE:

• To outline the basic functions and position requirements for the position of the Industrial Pray Paint Equipment Technician. The primary objective of the Industrial Spray Paint Equipment Technician is to ensure paint and powder equipment is maintained in good working condition.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

• Maintaining equipment in paint and powder booths
• Training and working with the other Industrial Painters on Flat Line and Overhead Line for proper care and use of all spray equipment.
• Follow all safety/environmental and quality requirements/procedures
• Maintain necessary records of all paint material mixed and disposed as outlined on the OJT
• Have knowledge of electrostatic, two-part components, paint gun repairs and all spray application equipment and paint and powder booth equipment.
• Manually operate electrostatic and/or conventional spray equipment to paint a wide variety of parts.
• Set-up paint gun and paint pots for proper paint flow.
• Read and interpret viscosity and thickness instrumentation.
• Flush out hose lines daily or before each change of color.
• Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; Maintain good housekeeping practices in accordance with Rhinehart Finishing practice.
• Assist employees when issues arise due to equipment not properly working.
• Maintain all paperwork associated with equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Monitor all paint inventory items associated with the production demands of the department including supplies, materials, and equipment with the assistance of the Plant Superintendent
• Learn and can fill in for paint mixing or spray painting as the need arises.
• Assist other maintenance personnel as directed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to learn all aspects of the operation that falls under the authority of the Industrial Spray Paint Equipment Technician.

Minimum 3 years general maintenance or related experience

Must be experienced using pneumatic tools

Must have experience using solvents and chemicals related to equipment clean up
