The Indiana State Park Inns are one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country. We proudly operate seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana that offer a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally!
Located just outside Nashville, Indiana, Abe Martin Lodge is nestled in the picturesque hills of Indiana’s largest state park, Brown County State Park. The lodge features 84 guest rooms, the Little Gem Restaurant, cabins, an indoor water park, and over 6,000 square feet of banquet/conference space.
Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Executive Housekeeper is to ensure the cleanliness of all guest rooms and maintain the standards of the hotel. Assist and monitor housekeeping employees in their daily tasks and inform housekeeping managers of any discrepancies. This position is also required to assist housekeeping managers with housekeeping-related duties such as lost and found procedures, answering phones, and any other task related to housekeeping, guest service, and interaction with housekeeping employees.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $16/hour but may be commensurate with experience.
A Day in the Life:
Inspecting all vacant rooms daily in assigned areas and spot-checking occupied rooms as needed
Ensure all required amenities and linens are stocked daily in each guest room according to standards
Ensure the guest room is clean according to standards and that required daily cleaning assignments have been completed, as specified by the office
Monitor all housekeeping employees and their daily activities while on the floor. Report any issues to the housekeeping manager immediately
Assist housekeeping managers with office duties and back-of-house duties, as needed, including but not limited to, lost and found, shipping, and daily office procedures
Assist in cleaning rooms or laundry if the need occurs
Assist in special projects, as assigned such as putting in paperwork, making lists, or any other task assigned by management
All training of new room attendants will be done only by a floor supervisor or designated trainer and monitored by housekeeping managers
Always maintain a friendly and helpful attitude toward guests

What You'll Need for Success:

Previous experience in hotel housekeeping management/supervision is strongly preferred.
Flexible to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Task-oriented and able to handle multiple priorities.
Individuals may be required to wear an Indiana State Park Inns-provided uniform.
Ability to hold effective communication with coworkers and guests and assist them as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
