DUTIES: BorgWarner PDS (USA), Inc. seeks a Sr. Power Electronics Mechanical Engineer based out of our office at 2151 E Lincoln Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position does not require travel.

Duties include: support the mechanical design of Hybrid/Electric Inverter and Converter Systems for various global automotive customers; lead mechanical design of Hybrid/Electric Inverter and Converter Systems; mentor new engineers within the team, provide technical guidance to team members; design mechanical components in compliance with the BorgWarner Bill of Design; design product and components to meet customer specifications; perform mechanical analysis and verification, including thermal management, vibration capability, thermal shock, and tolerance stack; document design as needed and required; develop and interface with supply base in support of program needs and purchasing initiatives; and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Physics and 60 months of experience in the job offered or related position. Required experience must include: experience conducting Mechanical hardware design; experience working with automotive environmental and durability requirements; experience using NX CAD applications; and experience using analysis tools.
