Job Description:

Job Description:Responsible for the design and development of heavy-duty commercial vehicle electric propulsion control systems. Define system requirements, develop control strategies in a model-based design environment, and release auto-coded software into production. Perform work in MATLAB and Simulink, software and hardware in the loop systems, propulsion system test cells, and test vehicle environments to develop cutting-edge systems. Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate high voltage electrical components, mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and controllers to produce industry-leading propulsion systems. Translate system requirements into product designs. Design and implement electric vehicle propulsion system architectures, control algorithms, and customer-facing features. Utilize model-based simulation, HIL, and other test assets to create system designs and refine functionality. Lead failure mode analysis and recommended system improvements. Ensure that system design meets internal and external customer requirements.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field. Five (5) years of progressive experience designing and developing automotive embedded controls for hybrid or EV propulsion systems. Other experience and skills must include:

  • MATLAB/Simulink in a production controls environment

  • C/C++ in a production controls environment

  • Design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA).

  • HIL/SIL/MIL environments for product development.

  • CAN / J1939 serial data communication system

Eligibility for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to perform in-vehicle development activities. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
