United States Steel Field Support Analyst II in Indiana

We currently have an opening for a Field Support Analyst at our Gary Works facility. The Field Support Analyst is a technician responsible for general infrastructure technology including PC, Laptop, Printer, MFD, mobile terminals, tag printers, and general project support. The successful candidate will possess excellent technology skills, as well as a strong work ethic and customer service focus. Job level will be determined based on candidate experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Support Analyst is responsible to support general infrastructure technology and services. Safety is the Core Value of U.S. Steel; the Systems Analyst will make Safety the #1 priority in the execution of all work activities including monitoring contractor/vendor Safety in support of work efforts.
General support for all PC, printer, MFD, mobile terminal, tag printer and software issues including daily customer service and ticket management
Candidate must be a self-starter demonstrating excellent time management & organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize multiple, concurrent work activities
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with customers, peers and vendors at all organizational levels
Demonstrates commitment to customer service
As part of duties, individual will have access to and use of car for transportation around plant location
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent technical support skills including hands-on experience managing PCs, Laptops, Printers, Multi-function printers, tag printers, vehicle-mount/mobile terminals, tablets, and enterprise-class desktop software
Basic IP networking skills including cabling support, simple troubleshooting, and user device configuration
Basic IT Project Management experience including demonstrated success managing small to mid-size projects in an Enterprise environment
Server support, storage management, Active Directory or other related technology skills are a plus
Be able to lift 50lbs and possess physical fitness necessary to work in a heavy-industry environment
Candidate must successfully pass pre-employment checks which include a driving history report
24/7 off-hours support including weekends and evenings as required
Willing to work within the facility itself daily
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Ability to work Safely and independently in a plant environment
Possesses strong oral and written communications skills; able to articulate ideas and listen effectively
Candidate must be a self-starter demonstrating excellent time management & organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize multiple, concurrent work activities
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with customers, peers and vendors at all organizational levels
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
The prospective applicant must have an excellent work ethic and be willing to extend the extra effort required to meet critical completion timelines in support of plant needs
Project management experience is a plus
1-2 years’ experience supporting an enterprise IT environment in heavy manufacturing.
