Huntington County Government Jail Officers-Full and Part-Time in Huntington, Indiana
The Huntington County Sheriffs Office is Currently Recruiting for Additional Full Time and Part Time Jail Staff to Work a Variety of Shifts.
- Full and Part Time Jail Officers max pay $22.57
There is a five (5) day jail school training that is required and provided, along with a specific number of hours of training on-the-job.
These positions are responsible for maintaining control and ensuring safety of facility staff and inmates. These positions are also responsible for maintaining the security of the facility, handling booking and bonding procedures, and handing facility rule/regulation compliance. In addition to the previous outlined duties, transport officers are also responsible for the secure and safe transportation, guarding, and escorting of inmates from specified sites to designated locations.
Candidates will be trained in First Aid/CPR, AED and Defensive Tactics. In addition, a successful candidate must also possess excellent communication and computer skills, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Successful candidates must be open to work evenings, weekends and nights. Must be 18 years old, and have a HS Diploma/GED.
