Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our New Product Development Group. Our team focuses on enhancing existing products, implementing customer-driven changes, and developing new products from scratch. This role will involve working with a dedicated team of engineers to design and develop new product lines, as well as modify existing ones. You will also collaborate with the prototype shop to construct working models and provide engineering analysis for continuous production and improvement of our products.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products using SolidEdge.

• Modify existing product lines to improve efficiency and cost.

• Work with the prototype shop to construct working prototype models.

• Provide engineering analysis and implement design modifications.

• Field calls from customers regarding product changes, improvements, and repairs.

• Communicate effectively with team members and customers.

Essential Skills

• 4 - 7 years of experience in design.

• Experience with new product development, including the engineering release process from sketch to production.

• Experience with existing product modifications and customer-driven improvements.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD design, detailing, and modeling (Solidworks, CATIA, ProE, NX/UG/Unigraphics, Creo, Revit).

• Strong communication skills.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with sheet metal, aluminum, and steel.

• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

• Proficiency in calculations and tolerance analysis.

• Experience with SolidEdge design.

Work Environment

The office features cubicles for each engineer and has a casual dress code, allowing jeans and nice shirts. The company embraces modern work practices with a hybrid work schedule of 4 days in the office and 1 day remote. The team is known for strong camaraderie and long-term retention, with many employees having been with the company for 5-10+ years.
