LittleStar ABA Therapy Psychologist - HSPP in Carmel, Indiana

The primary role of the Psychologist - HSPP is to conduct diagnostic testing and evaluations for suspected neurodevelopmental disorders and provide behaviorally-based therapy to individuals and families with disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Conduct diagnostic evaluations for children ages 2-18 with suspected autism utilizing the ADOS-2 and other relevant assessments and rating scales as needed (i.e., MIGDAS-2, BASC-3, SRS-2, Vineland-3).

· Analyze and interpret data and write evaluation reports.

· Share results of diagnostic evaluations with family members via feedback meetings.

· Draft thorough diagnostic reports which include all identified symptoms and impairment areas related to a confirmed diagnosis.

· Conduct weekly therapy sessions with children, teens, and families using behaviorally-focused techniques (i.e., ACT, AIM, CBT, pcit).

· Lead therapy groups for children, teens and adults focusing on increasing social skills, coping skills, mindfulness and improving executive functioning.

· Be available to work evenings as needed (estimated 2 evenings per week for social groups, parent groups, and/or therapy sessions).

· Work closely with the Diagnostic Clinic Coordinator to ensure high levels of customer services regarding all areas of the evaluation and follow-up meetings.

· Stay abreast of best practices for conducting autism evaluations and therapy with autistic patients and ensure that these practices are implemented within the clinic.

· Other psychological service administration, such as group/family therapy or support groups may also be required as assigned by the Vice President of Psychological Services.

· Adhere to all LS policies and procedures.

· Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Educational Qualifications and Skills

· Doctoral degree and licensed in the state of Indiana as a Psychologist

· Endorsed as a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP), by the Indiana State Board of Examiners in Psychology

· Previous experience with assessment/treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders is required

· Technology competent, to include Microsoft Office, email and internet and ability to learn patient management systems, such as Code Metro, Catalyst or Welligent

· A positive team player and energetic professional

· Good judgment and creative thinking skills

· Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels

· Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, and be flexible

· Must demonstrate clinical competencies essential to job performance

· Discretion in matters that need to remain private

· Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on timeliness and accuracy

Condition of Employment:

· Must pass a pre-employment criminal history check.

· Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as provided by LittleStar, where physical distance cannot be attained, as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office and audiovisual equipment. Position works in Carmel and is eligible for 20% telecommuting

(i.e., 4 days in Carmel, 1 day home based for writing reports and notes).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Travel

Travel is generally not expected for this position but may be occasional to other LittleStar centers and facilities, clinic sites and/or training events or conferences, as needed.
